I want to buy a family MUV. I am confused between the new Carnival and the newly launched MG M9. Both come at a similar price, and one is electric. I personally liked the M9 more, but I am unsure about the Carnival’s pricing and think it may drop considerably in the future, as it is now a completely CBU model. My monthly running would be no more than 500 km. Please guide.

Both the luxury MPVs are very capable and offer a lot to the buyer. If long-distance drives are something you may do, the Carnival with its diesel engine would be better. However, judging by your monthly running, it appears that you have smaller trips and perhaps within city/town limits.

The electric MG M9 would thus be fine. It has a better interior in terms of appointments and rear seat functionality, and given that you already have a liking for it, we would recommend you go with the MG. On a side note, the Carnival isn’t a CBU but is locally assembled.
