We are a family of 3, occasionally joined by our elderly parents. Our rides are in the city with occasional highway driving. We cover 1000 km every month. Looking for an SUV within a budget of ₹20L. Will be self-driven. Looking for a car with personality and comfort that will work well for highways and the city. Open to trading in our current car, as we don’t want to deal with two cars/insurance. AT preferred. Is the Thar Roxx for us? If not, what else? What should we look for in our next ride?

While the Thar Roxx oozes with personality and is very well-equipped, ingress/egress will not be very convenient for your elderly parents. Also, compared to a monocoque-based SUV, over small bumps there is much side-to-side rocking in the Roxx. Its suspension is better at taking on massive potholes and the rough-and-tumble of the off-road. You could thus consider a Kia Seltos (IVT variants), or if you want something more engaging, the VW Taigun or Skoda Kushaq (1.0 AT variants) could be a good option.
