I want to buy an SUV with a budget of up to 24 lakh. My daily travel is about 40 km, and I usually go on long drives two to three times a year. I am confused whether I should go for electric (Mahindra XEV 9 or XEV 6), diesel (Mahindra XUV 700), or hybrid (Toyota Hyryder). Do we have sufficient infrastructure for electric vehicles, such as charging stations? Considering the current situation, should I go for diesel? Lastly, in hybrid, only one option is available, the Toyota Hyryder. Kindly guide me.

You have several options within your budget. For long drives of up to 300-400 km, most EVs in this price range can comfortably cover the distance on a single charge. For longer trips, you will need to plan carefully and account for charging stops.
Since you’re open to EVs, the Mahindra XEV 9E is a good choice, though we also recommend considering the well-rounded Hyundai Creta Electric. Among ICE vehicles, besides the Toyota Hyryder, the Maruti Victoris hybrid is worth a look, which promises incredible fuel efficiency and is better equipped, too.
