I'm planning to buy a compact SUV, and my budget is below 10 lakh. My concerns are better mileage, safety, and build quality. I'm confused if I have to choose the Mahindra XUV 3XO or any other car in this segment, as I heard a lot of complaints about its mileage.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO would be slightly over budget for the ₹10 lakh mark. The Renault Kiger fits the bill better. It has not only been updated with a fresher interior and features, but has also received a 4-star Global NCAP crash test rating.
The new variant is yet to be tested, but since there have been no structural changes, you can be assured it will be 4-star at least.
The other option is the Citroen Basalt, which also fits the budget and is a bit more stylish. It too has scored a 4-star Bharat NCAP crash test rating.
