I am an NRI visiting India every three months, staying for 3 to 4 weeks during each visit. I used to rent self-drive cars, but it's becoming increasingly expensive. a. Can I buy a new car and park it idle for three months until my next visit? If not, what would you suggest for this situation? b. If I buy a new SUV with the above conditions in mind, which 5-seater vehicle would you recommend?

Since you haven’t mentioned your budget, it’s difficult to suggest a specific 5-seater SUV. Whatever model you choose, make sure to follow these precautions when your car is parked for long periods:
    • Disconnect the 12V battery to prevent discharge.
    • Increase tyre pressures to avoid flat spots.
    • Keep the fuel tank full.
    • Avoid using the handbrake.
    • Use a rodent repellent to prevent damage, if possible.
Alternatively, you could consider a pre-owned vehicle. Reputed used car providers, such as Spinny, offer certified options backed by a warranty.
