Asked by: Ayush Is the dry-clutch gearbox used by Hyundai/Kia reliable in India, especially in city conditions with heavy traffic? And is it recommended to go for a DCT in models like the new Venue, Creta, or Seltos? Theoretically speaking, a wet-clutch DCT is more durable than a dry-clutch one. DCTs got a bad name thanks to the older Volkswagen cars that threw up a lot of issues with their DCT units. However, the dry-clutch units from Hyundai/Kia are fairly reliable, with far fewer issues, so it is a safe bet to buy one. For further peace of mind, go in for the extended warranty and make sure the gearbox and its associated components are covered. Also, make sure you follow general automatic gearbox tips like never leaving the transmission in P mode without the parking brake applied, especially on a steep slope. Asked by: Devansh Chandak I currently own three cars: a Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid, a Nexon EV, and a 2015 Honda City diesel. I plan to sell the City and buy a new 7-seater SUV. My budget is ₹50 lakh. Which SUV do you suggest? Options I'm considering or willing to wait for include MG Majestor, Hyundai Palisade, Skoda Kodiaq, Fortuner, and BMW X1. Which SUV do you recommend? The best choice in this segment is the Skoda Kodiaq. The Hyundai Palisade is a good SUV, but it is only expected to come in 2028, and even that could shift. The Skoda car will offer everything you want in one package. Kodiaq is luxurious, has a comfy ride, a strong engine, and the cabin is quite spacious, too. The Skoda Kodiaq would be our strong recommendation. Can’t decide which car to buy?
