Asked by: Deepak Agrawal Among the Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, and Land Rover Velar, which is the better choice overall? Though they fall in a similar price range, these SUVs offer very different propositions. The Range Rover Velar is primarily focused on style. It has sleek looks, a low roof and a minimalist interior with high-quality materials. However, it is not as practical or spacious as the others. The cabin is smaller, and it only gets five seats. It is also the only one of the three to offer a diesel engine. Overall, it feels better from the driver’s seat than the rear seat. The Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 are larger SUVs with 5+2 seating. The third row is best for kids, but it still adds some extra practicality. The Q7 uses a 340hp, 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine, which offers more effortless power. The XC90 uses a 250hp, 2.0-litre 4-cyl mild-hybrid petrol engine, which is more fuel-efficient. The Volvo also offers more features than the Audi. All three are excellent SUVs, so the best choice depends on your specific needs and preferences. Asked by: Ramya Rajan I want to upgrade my car and have a budget of ₹60-80 lakhs. Should I go for the Land Rover Discovery Sport Diesel, BMW X1, BMW X3, wait for the upcoming Audi Q5, or consider the Jeep Meridian? In your budget, it's best to go for the BMW X3, although you might have to stretch by Rs 2-3 lakh. It is the newest SUV, offering a strong 2.0-litre diesel engine, plus the latest tech and a spacious and comfortable cabin. The Discovery Sport is a capable car, but it is quite old now and its age shows; if you need a third row of seats, however, do consider it. The X1, in comparison, is a segment below and offers less powerful engines and, of course, less space. The new Audi Q5 launch is some time away, and while it is capable, note that it will only come in petrol guise, not diesel. You could also consider the Mercedes-Benz GLC, whose 2.0-litre diesel is also strong, and it offers a spacious and luxurious cabin as well. Asked by: Parag Kuvar I want to buy a new 5-seater SUV. It should be reliable, have low ownership costs, and be a good family car. My budget is 10 lakh. I was confused between the Hyundai Venue HX2 1.2 and the Brezza LXI. I was a bit concerned about whether the Venue’s 1.2 NA engine is sufficient. I have now booked the Brezza LXI, and the dealer will deliver it next week. Should I wait for the Brezza facelift, or consider the Venue 1.2 instead? The Hyundai Venue does pack in more features for the money (such as a touchscreen and digital dials), and the interior is slightly more premium. However, it's the Maruti Suzuki Brezza that will fit your needs better. It is reliable, cheap to maintain, and scores very well on space and ride comfort. This Maruti Suzuki car also has the advantage of a larger and more powerful engine, which gives it better performance than the Hyundai Venue 1.2.We'd suggest you go ahead with your Brezza order. Do note, there is no timeline for the Brezza facelift's launch. Also, we don't expect more than a few cosmetic changes on the model. Asked by: MITHUN THANKAM V I plan to buy an EV before June 2026. My daily usage is around 100 km (about 2,500 km per month). I am confused between a 5-seater and a 7-seater — we usually travel as 4 family members, but parents or my mother-in-law join occasionally, so a 7-seater may be useful. My budget is ₹15–25 lakh. The Clavis EV seems suitable, and I’ve heard about upcoming EVs like the XUV700 EV, Sierra EV, and new Suzuki, Toyota and Honda EVs, along with current options like the Harrier EV, Nexon EV and MG Windsor/ZS EV. Please suggest the right option, clarify whether I should pick a 5-seater or 7-seater, the best time to buy (including tax relaxation benefits), and whether PY/BH registration is cheaper. We'd strongly advise you to get a 7-seat EV for times when more family members join in. Of the current options, the Kia Carens Clavis EV is a great option. It is very smooth, offers good performance, and the flexible seating means you can maximise middle row space (when there's only 4 on board) or make more space for the last row (when there are 6 or 7 passengers on board). Upcoming 7-seat options include the Mahindra XEV 9S, which will be launched on November 25. Our review of the model goes live later this month. Stay tuned to know if it fits your needs!
