Given your budget, and that you are a performance enthusiast, you should check out the Tata Sierra with the new 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. It comes with a smooth 6-speed torque converter automatic, which means there should be less of the rubber band effect that you might have gotten with a CVT auto. The Skoda Kushaq 1.5 petrol is another good option, although there is a facelift due in the second half of next year, which will bring many new features. While an EV is also a good option, the Tata Harrier EV will be slightly out of your budget, and the Tata Sierra EV will only be launched in 2026.

Since we have mixed opinions, what would be the better decision, an EV or a diesel? The type of powertrain depends on your usage. If you cover 50km daily in the city and the car will mostly be used in the city, then an electric car makes sense. The Kia Carens Clavis EV is a good choice as it has a good range and spacious seating for 7.However, if you plan on doing outstation trips often, then a diesel will be a better choice. The Mahindra Scorpio N has good performance and is comfy, but not as spacious as the XUV700.The Mahindra XUV700 would be a better buy than the Scorpio N in your case.

Asked by: Bijal I need an automatic car for my wife for 90% city driving. My budget is around 15 lakh. I am considering the Venue DCT, Brezza AT, and Creta CVT. Please also advise EV options. I need light steering and a car that is easy to manoeuvre in the city with reasonably good fuel economy. Considering the fact that 90% of the driving would be within city limits, an electric car would be a good option. Not only are they zippier and easier to drive with light steering, but you also get the massive cost savings in terms of cost per kilometer.The Tata Nexon EV in Creative trim would be the best choice as it fits in your budget and gets the bigger 45kWh battery pack.The Hyundai Creta CVT would not fit in the Rs 15 lakh budget, and while the Maruti Suzuki Brezza AT and Hyundai Venue DCT are good, they just are not as effortless to drive in the city as the Nexon EV is.

The Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet would fit within your budget, and if you are strict about this, we would recommend you consider these.Between the two, the MG Comet is better for short intra-city runs, but it comes across more as a runabout rather than a full-fledged car, and that's where the Tiago EV would be better.However, if you can up your budget slightly, the Tata Punch EV would be the best option. It's compact for the city, rides very well and feels very modern.

Asked by: Kishore My budget is ₹70-80 lakh. My preferences are luxury and performance. Which vehicle should I buy between the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class? If you are going to be behind the wheel more often, the BMW M340i is excellent and has a decent rear seat for occasional chauffeur-driven drives too. However, if you want a better rear seat experience, the BMW 330Li is very good too. It is almost as good as the M340i, but thanks to the long wheelbase, it gets a spacious and comfy rear seat as well.The Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers a more luxurious interior, but the driving experience is much better in the BMW.

Asked by: Venki I am a 61-year-old retired person looking to buy a car for city driving and occasional highway trips. My budget is around ₹6-7 lakh. Mostly, my wife and I will use the vehicle. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I am open to either a used or a new car. Please suggest suitable options. The Tata Punch would suit you nicely. The car is safe, and the wide-opening doors and high seating make it easy to get inside, and the seats are reasonably comfy too. The only issue is space at the rear is tight, but if this is not an issue for you, the Punch would suit you very well. Also, the car is very easy to drive in the city, and it has good stability out on the highways, too.
