Asked by: Thangavelu Nexon EV or Baleno. Which one should I buy? My monthly running is around 2,000 km, and my budget is ₹15–20 lakh. But if you have to choose between the Baleno and Nexon EV, go for the Maruti Baleno. It is much more affordable as Baleno price starts from ₹5.98 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand Nexon EV price begins with ₹12.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the initial savings will offset EV's running cost benefits. What's also nice is that the Baleno is very efficient too. Additionally, the Baleno's resale value will be much better than the Nexon EV.

Most driving will be in the city, with occasional highway trips once every six months. I prefer an SUV, not a sedan. I have test-driven the VW Taigun and Honda Elevate, both automatics, as I need an automatic. The Elevate offers more features, while the Taigun 1.5 offers more power. Please guide me on which would be the better buy. The Taigun 1.5 TSI DSG might not fit into your ₹18 lakh (on-road) budget. The Honda Elevate, price ranges between ₹13.08 lakh and ₹19.19 lakh (on-road in Mumbai), which falls within your range.If you liked the drive experience, you should definitely go for it. The Elevate is a very comfortable car with good driving manners. Its engine delivers strong performance, so you will never feel short of power, even when traveling with five people on the highway.

Asked by: MIK I intend to buy a pre-owned diesel car. My monthly travel would be around 1,500 km, mostly on intercity highways around Ahmedabad. My budget is ₹8–9 lakh, and I prefer a manual transmission. What mileage should I consider acceptable while purchasing a used diesel car? I am looking at 2023 models of both the Altroz XZ+ and the Sonet HTK+. When buying used, the lower the mileage, the better. However, make sure you check the car out thoroughly and look for cars that still have valid warranties. You could also consider buying a used car from some of the well-known pre-owned car platforms. While you may pay a bit more, you will have clear documentation and perhaps a warranty from the platform, too.

I need an automatic vehicle with features like 360 camera, ventilated seat, good music system. Please suggest some vehicles? The Skoda Kylaq is a good option for city use. The gearbox is a torque convertor which is the smoothest auto box to have. It's also decently equipped with ventilated seats.

Since your usage is mostly in the city, an EV would suit you well. With no traditional gearbox, it offers the smoothest driving experience among other automatics. This is especially true since most cars below ₹18 lakh come with AMTs or CVTs.The Punch EV would do well given its tight dimensions, making it easy to drive in city traffic. However, if you prefer more space, the Windsor would be a good buy.

That's a very broad list, and it's hard to recommend one without knowing some of your needs. However, from all on the list, the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Victoris are good all-rounders that deliver well on comfort, space, features, ride and decent performance.

Without knowing your budget, it's hard to recommend a suitable replacement. However, assuming you're still looking for a hatchback, and you enjoy a punchy diesel engine, the only diesel hatchback remaining is the Tata Altroz. It's a tough, well equipped and comfortable hatchback with good safety features. Since you're running is light though, consider a petrol hatchback too, like the Hyundai i20 or Maruti Baleno.

After 50,000 to 70,000 km, it’s understandable for any vehicle to start showing some issues due to natural wear and tear. However, the severity of these issues can be greatly reduced by following the recommended service schedule, using only recommended parts and supplements, and handling the vehicle with care.Mahindra has a fairly wide service network, though owners have reported mixed experiences with service quality. The known issues mainly relate to electronics, infotainment, and the front suspension. Mahindra has also conducted several recalls to fix faulty units.Overall, yes, an EV will have lower maintenance costs than an ICE vehicle since it has fewer moving components and less wear and tear. The Harrier EV is a good product, especially in terms of space and comfort. However, you should also consider the Mahindra XEV 9e as an alternative.
