After comparing various sedans, I have liked the Verna SX(O) DCT Turbo the best. I drive about 500 km a month and occasionally make road trips of around 400 km one way. Is this car a good choice?
While the Hyundai Verna DCT is good, the Skoda Slavia would be a better highway car. It is more stable, the engine and gearbox are smoother, and it is more spacious too.

I have been your regular follower for more than two decades. I’m confused between the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Asta AMT and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis Alpha AGS. This car will primarily be driven by my wife. Please share your views.
Thank you for being our long-time reader and viewer; we really appreciate it!While both cars are a little old now, they’re still very competent at what they do, and each has its own small advantages. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios offers a better back seat and boot, in case that is your priority. However, if it is not, we would recommend the Maruti Suzuki Ignis for a few reasons. It’s more fuel-efficient, with an ARAI-rated Maruti Ignis mileage of 20.89 kmpl. its slightly taller stance makes ingress and egress easier with great forward visibility. Plus, it’s a bit more compact, which really helps with maneuverability in the city.

I own a 2019 Honda City Automatic (48,000 km, no issues) and a Skoda Octavia 2023 for outstation use. I need a moderate automatic SUV for personal city driving. My maximum budget is ₹12-15 lakh. Please suggest suitable models. Thanks and regards.
The Kia Syros is a good city car with compact dimensions without sacrificing interior space. The automatic gearbox is smooth, it is light to drive in the city, and the gearbox is smooth too. Another option worth waiting for is the newly revealed Hyundai Venue.

My weekly commute is around 500 km, solo, and 95% of my driving is on highways. I want a car that offers both power and fuel efficiency. My budget is ₹10 lakh.
The Tata Altroz diesel manual would be a good choice as it fits your budget and offers decent power for highway use, along with good efficiency. If you prefer an SUV, the Mahindra Bolero Neo is also a solid option.

I am searching an automatic hatchback/sedan/suv car but my considerations is it should be very good in comfort and mileage my budget is 15 lakhs.
The Tata Nexon diesel AMT is a good choice for comfort and mileage. The Nexon is known for its comfortable ride quality and its ability to absorb bumps. The diesel engine is frugal, and the AMT adds convenience in the city as well. The Creative + AMT will fit in your budget and get you a good set of features as well.

Should I buy a second-hand car, or go for a new budget-friendly Maruti car for my parents?
Yes, these days it’s quite easy to find well-maintained used cars that aren’t too old and don’t have major issues. If you’re on a tight budget, the used car market gives you far greater choice compared to buying a new car. You can often move a segment or two higher for the same price. You can check out Spinny.com, where all used cars go through a 200-point inspection and come with a warranty for greater peace of mind

I want to replace my 2017 Dominar 400, but I can’t buy a new one since it’s over my budget. I enjoy riding at triple-digit speeds on highways. Please suggest a suitable replacement under ₹2 lakh (ex-showroom).
Considering your budget and familiarity with the Bajaj Dominar 400, you can look at the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z. It recently received updates with more power and better cycle parts, and despite the GST 2.0 changes, its price hasn’t increased.

Please suggest a petrol / mild hybrid / hybrid / EV SUV within ₹15-20 lakh. My driving is mostly in the city with around 150 km daily and interstate trips every quarter with a family of five.
For your extensive city drives, an EV car will be the best choice. Given your budget, requirement for range and space, consider the MG Windsor in its Essence Pro guise. It gets a 52.9 kWh battery with a real world range of over 400km and lots of room in the cabin with a good set of features as well.

I’d like to buy a 350cc bike mainly for local commuting within town. Which one would be the best option?
In the 350cc space, you can look at any one of the Royal Enfield 350cc models or the Honda CB350 trio. There are multiple options with different body styles and price points available to cater to a wide variety of use cases, more so in the Royal Enfield lineup than the Honda lineup. Our top picks are the Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Classic 350, and Honda H’ness CB350 for their upright riding positions, spacious seats, and comfortable suspension. If you're on a tight budget, the entry-level Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and Honda CB350 should be on your radar.

Maximum budget ₹8L to 10L. Third row space is a must. The Toyota brand is my first preference.
The Renault Triber is a well-packaged MPV with a good third row. Renault Triber price ranges between ₹6.93 - ₹10.01 Lakh in Chennai, which is within your budget. Your preferred option would be the Toyota Rumion, based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, but that starts at Rs 12 lakh on-road.
