Asked by: Girish Thakare I’ve been closely following your recommendations and noticed that you often recommend the Maruti Suzuki Victoris over the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. However, Toyota is currently offering a ₹1.5 lakh discount across all Hyryder models. I’m planning to buy either the G or V strong-hybrid variant of Hyryder. Given this revised pricing, would you still recommend the Victoris, or does the Hyryder now offer better value? Please advise whether the Hyryder strong hybrid is worth considering at this discounted price. The Maruti Suzuki Victoris remains a better choice than the Grand Vitara or the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder as it features a newer interior and updated features such as a larger touchscreen and Level 2 ADAS.However, since both cars share the same powertrain, if you’re getting a better deal on the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, it would be a worthwhile purchase.

I’m looking for automatic options, preferably TC or DCT, with a budget of ₹20-22 lakh. I prefer sedans, but am open to compact SUVs or crossovers as well. Unfortunately, there isn’t a single sedan car with a diesel engine in this price bracket. Your best option would be the Hyundai Creta SX(O) diesel.This Hyundai car offers good ride comfort, highway stability, strong features, and solid safety. Its torque-converter automatic gearbox is responsive during overtakes and smoother than a DCT in city driving.

Should I go for the XUV700, or is it worth waiting for its facelift? The updated Mahindra XUV700 is expected to launch in 2026. While its silhouette will remain largely similar to the current version, several design elements are likely to be inspired by the XEV 9e.XUV700 is already a very compelling package, so if you’re not in a hurry, it’s advisable to wait for the facelift, as 2026 is only a few months away.

If rear seat space isn't a high priority, the new Hyundai Venue is the best choice in this group.
