Asked by: Satish I’m planning to buy my first car. I need a smooth automatic for ~80% city driving and good ground clearance for occasional village visits. My daily commute is 30 km through heavy traffic. I have a family of five and do occasional interstate and hilly trips, so comfortable seating and strong suspension are important. My budget is ₹10–12 lakh. Please suggest smooth automatic cars with must-have features and affordable service/maintenance. That's quite a tall order, but a car that best suits your needs would be a compact SUV - combining space, compact dimensions and ground clearance. We would recommend the Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXi AT, which comes in around the top end of your budget. It is among the more spacious compact SUVs; its 1.5-litre petrol engine is efficient, yet powerful enough on the highway, its 6-speed torque converter automatic is smooth, and service is easily available and affordable.

Asked by: Sahil Ahmed I currently own a 2022 Yamaha FZ S Fi. No doubt it's a good bike with decent mileage, but the spares are expensive. I’m looking to switch to a cruiser bike that offers low maintenance and an average mileage of 35-40 km/l. My daily commute is around 40 km. Between the TVS Ronin and Honda H’ness CB350, which one would you suggest? Both the TVS Ronin and Honda H'ness CB350 are perfectly capable and comfortable machines, so you can go with whichever one appeals to you more.You can also consider the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 at a similar price point, as it’s now a well-rounded, capable city bike.

Asked by: Suraj K Raghavan I’ve been riding an Avenger Street 220 for the past seven years. I’m now looking to upgrade to something more powerful with better suspension for rough roads. My daily ride is at least 50 km, and occasionally I ride up to 150 km a day. I’m considering the TVS Apache RTX 300 and the Honda CB350. Please advise. The Honda CB350 models are comfortable motorcycles with plush suspension and a neutral rider’s triangle, so any of them would be a safe choice. You can also consider the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 or Classic 350, as both offer an upright riding position, great suspension, and comfort.Coming to the TVS Apache RTX 300, this bike will be the most comfortable among all the suggested options because of its format. It will also pack in better performance than the air-cooled 350s if that's important to you.

Asked by: Praveen Kumar Between the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 and the Triumph Scrambler 400 X, which is better for daily rides and touring? As an all-rounder, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X makes more sense because it has a commanding riding position, great suspension comfort, and lovely city manners. However, it feels a bit breathless on the highway beyond 100 kph, so if you don’t ride past that speed often, it’s a great option.On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is a more engaging bike with better handling on twisty roads due to its wider tyres and 17-inch front wheel. It also feels more at home when doing fast highway speeds.

My daily commute is around 30 km, and due to poor road conditions and long hours of sitting at the office, I’ve started experiencing lower back pain despite regular workouts at home. My budget is between ₹2.5 and ₹2.75 lakhs. I’m looking for a bike that offers excellent suspension, low maintenance, and good resale value. There are two adventure bikes that will fit the bill for your needs - the Hero Xpulse 210 (lightest, most affordable, and fuel efficient but has the least power owing to its small displacement) and the TVS Apache RTX 300 (most performance, lovely suspension, and seating comfort but at 835mm, its seat is quite tall).You can also consider the Honda CB350 series or the Royal Enfield Classic/Bullet 350, both of which have upright riding positions and comfortable suspension setups.

Take thorough test rides to find which one suits you best.

Asked by: Jagdish Sawale I’m planning to upgrade to a new bike - something in the around 300 cc class with adventure styling and good comfort. It will be used mostly in the city, with occasional touring too. Could you suggest suitable models for this usage? The most compelling option in the 300cc space currently is the TVS Apache RTX 300, with its peppy performance, great comfort and extensive feature list at a tantalizing price. Since this is a very new product, we would advise you to wait for a while before purchasing it, so any teething issues that emerge can be ironed out. Something that's similarly priced and capable is the KTM 250 Adventure, which is also worth considering.

Asked by: Jay Dave I want to buy an EV scooter in the ₹1 to ₹1.25 lakh range with a real-world range of over 150 km. My daily commute is about 60 km. I prefer a model with low maintenance and easy service/repair. I was initially considering the Ola S1 X, but its service reputation is negative - so please suggest some strong alternatives. Within your budget, there's no electric scooter with a battery big enough to fit your requirements. The options we would recommend looking at for you are the Bajaj Chetak 35 models, TVS iQube 3.5 or 5.3 variants and the Ather Rizta 3.7 duo. These options are quite a bit above your budget, so if you're open to a petrol scooter, you can consider the TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access and Honda Activa models. Coming to the Ola S1X you're considering, even though it may be falling within your budget and look tempting on paper, please do not waste your hard-earned money on that product because the internet is flooded with horror stories that people have faced after buying Ola Electric products.

I want a comfortable, quiet bike with low vibration that won’t aggravate my knee pain when bending. My use is mainly city riding with occasional long rides - please suggest suitable models. Since you've come from a Hero motorcycle, you could stay with that brand and look at the Xpulse 210, which will be peppy, comfortable and fuel efficient. If you want to look elsewhere, the Royal Enfield Classic / Bullet 350 or the Honda CB350 models make for comfortable, easy-going machines with a thumpy engine and old-school looks.

Please suggest a bike for daily commuting that offers comfort and performance. Since you haven't specified your budget, we'll recommend something that feels like a step up without hurting your wallet too much. You can take a look at the Bajaj Pulsar N160, Suzuki Gixxer 150 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V - all three are comfortable and fuel-efficient machines which will feel like an upgrade over your Radeon. Do take a test ride and see which one fits you best, because your daily running is quite high. The Apache is a little cramped in the way it folds your legs, so you may want to take a look at the other two.
