My weekly running is around 800-1,000km, mostly city driving, plus one monthly village trip of about 850km. Please suggest a car with good boot space. Your usage is heavy, and since it is primarily in the city, we recommend a diesel car that prioritises smoothness and comfort over outright performance. Hence, we would recommend the Hyundai Creta Diesel or the Kia Seltos Diesel.However, in your budget, you will only get low to mid-range variants of these two cars, so if you want more features, consider moving one segment lower and consider the Kia Syros diesel or the new Hyundai Venue diesel. You may sacrifice some space, but you will get more features and maybe even an automatic in the same budget.

Asked by: Ashish Gondwal I’m a student with a part-time job and I’m looking at 125 cc scooter models. I need something affordable, fuel-efficient, and with a good ride quality in hill stations. Could someone suggest the best scooter for me? The most fuel-efficient scooters in the 125cc space in our tests have been the Yamaha RayZR and Fascino models. Both are mechanically and feature-wise exactly the same, with only different bodywork and styling separating the two. Some other proven and reliable options to consider are the Suzuki Access, Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter models - these are also practical, fuel-efficient, reliable and comfortable scooters with widespread service networks.

Asked by: Mitesh I am confused between the Honda Activa 125 and TVS Jupiter 125 - which one is the best choice? I’ve been using the Activa for the last 12 years and I’m currently on my third one. Each scooter has its strengths and weaknesses, and without knowing your particular requirements, answering which one is better will not be possible. The strengths of the Activa 125 are its buttery smooth engine, bulletproof reliability and a widespread spare parts availability. Coming to the Jupiter 125, it has the largest underseat storage area on an Indian ICE scooter and has a plush ride and is also more stable at higher speeds owing to its 12-inch wheels at both ends. Take a test ride of both to see which one you're leaning toward more before making a purchase decision.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine is refined and adequately powerful.If your budget allows, go for the diesel-automatic version. It is slightly above ₹20 lakh but worth the stretch for its smooth and convenient driving experience.

Without knowing more of your requirements, it is hard to suggest the ideal car. However, given your comfort with the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, you should consider a car with high seating. Of the options within your budget, the Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger are worth checking out.

I prefer cars with good road visibility. Should I go for the Skoda Kylaq, Maruti Brezza, or any other automatic car around ₹10-12 lakh? The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is the better model for your requirements. Visibility is good, the cabin is roomier, and ride comfort is better than the Skoda Kylaq. Plus, Maruti Suzuki’s widespread service network makes ownership easy and convenient.

Asked by: Brandon Almeida Hi - I’ve been riding a 2014 Unicorn and now I’m looking to buy a new bike. Could you help me decide whether I should go for a 150 cc or a 350 cc model? I won’t be doing long rides very often - my weekly distance will be just about 10-12 km at most. I’m looking for something stylish, not the traditional Unicorn look. Here are some models I’m considering: the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Honda CB350RS, Bajaj Pulsar N160 / Pulsar N250, and the TVS Apache RTR 160. Could you advise? If you're not going to go on longer journeys often and want to stay in the same displacement range as your Unicorn, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V will serve you well. If you want a small step up in terms of performance without sacrificing too much fuel economy, the Bajaj Pulsar N250, Honda Hornet 2.0 and Suzuki Gixxer 250 will fit the bill. You can also take a look at the KTM 160 Duke and Yamaha MT-15 because, while they have smaller displacement engines, they are liquid-cooled and offer punchy performance with great fuel economy. The more laidback Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Honda CB350RS will definitely feel more special in their riding experience and fit & finish. Also, it will be significantly more expensive to buy and maintain compared to the aforementioned bikes.

I’m torn between the Tata Punch CNG, Toyota Taisor CNG, and Hyundai Exter CNG. Should I buy now or wait a few months for more CNG options in this budget? Please suggest. The Toyota Taisor CNG has the best engine among the cars you have shortlisted. It’s the one to buy if you’re comfortable with the cabin.Some of our taller reviewers did mention that the driving position feels a bit high. Asked by: Tinsy John I’m planning to purchase a sedan in the 18 - 20 lakhs bracket and I strongly consider the Skoda Slavia 1.0 TSI AT. But there has recently been news of an update coming soon for it. Is this real? Should I wait for it or go ahead and purchase now? While the Slavia will be updated, Skoda has not given any timeline for launch. The Kushaq is due for an update in early 2026, and the earliest we expect an updated Slavia is late 2026/early 2027. You can go ahead with your plans for the Slavia without worrying about it getting outdated anytime soon.
